Another Warm Start to the Weekend

The past three Friday's high temperatures have been well above average and now we are going for four in a row. High pressure will continue to slide off the East Coast for Friday allowing a warm front to move through tonight. The flow around high pressure is clockwise, so our winds will be Southerly for the next couple days. Air temperatures aloft in the atmosphere will support upper 70s to near 80 at the surface on Friday if enough sunshine breaks out. Partly sunny skies are expected so upper 70s are reachable.

For Saturday, same story with the warm air mass in place. Highs will even be a few degrees warmer, so look for another Saturday in the low 80s. That would be three in a row. There is one fly in the ointment though. On Saturday, high pressure over New England will try to shift Southward. If it shifts far South enough, it could push the warm front back through as a back door cold front. This would develop more of a Easterly wind with cooler temperatures in the 70s. Right now, it doesn't look like this will happen though.

The forecast looks good for Springfest with highs mainly in the low 70s Friday and Saturday with a chance of rain on Sunday. I will be there Friday night for the live broadcast of the 6PM News.
